Tuesday Feb 21, I went to the OB and it was decided at that appointment that at 5:30 am the next morning I was going to be induced...the baby was just too big. I went home and proceeded to iron out all the details involving the girls and the the little things necessary for the next morning. That evening Samantha went down super early and Dale's parents joined us for pizza dinner. Then as I sat on the couch I felt a little warmth..."holy cow I just peed myself"...as I try to sneak out to the bathroom. I didn't make but a few feet and the real culprit showed itself...my water broke!! And broke EVERYWHERE!! It continued to pour out for over 20 minutes....and we used every towel in the house.
Dale's parents stayed with the girls and Dale and I headed to the hospital. I was admitted and put into my room. I had yet to start having contractions and the doctor would allow me 6 hours to start labor on my own before he would begin an induction. My goal was to start labor on my own by 1:30am.

Labor started by itself about midnight. I was having horrible back labor and by 6cm (3am) was asking for an epidural. I got some much needed rest...

and then it wasn't long before I was 10cm and it was time...
5 contractions later we welcomed our little baby boy...Chase Robert Landis....at 8:32am
He's gorgeous!! Lots of black hair, dark grey eyes, long fingers and toes, and fat rolls to spare. PERFECTION!
Dr. Nathan delivered Chase and also Samantha. He is a fabulous doctor and nearly missed the birth of this little guy...everyone expected it to take a bit longer than 5 contractions to get a 10 pound baby out.

Chase loves to eat and loves to sleep. He likes to be held and has a set of lungs on him that could wake the entire apartment complex.
We stayed at the hospital for 24 hours and then took our little guy home.
Welcome to the world Baby Brother Chase...we are SO thrilled and absolutely in love with you already!
